On Monday morning myself, Jon & Ollie headed down to London for Ecommerce Expo 2012 to exhibit on the Magento Pavilion. It was the first time we’d done a show of any kind so we were unsure of what to expect but overall it proved to be a successful event. Alongside us on the Magento Pavilion were The Distance, M2E, Vaimo, Pod1 and Crimsonwing among other partners.

The exhibition kicked off at 9.30 on Tuesday morning but we were up bright and early to ensure we were at the venue to prepare our stand. We were one of eleven partners on the pavilion and among 150 exhibitors at the event. We had pouches of jelly beans branded in our corporate colours to give away to visitors which seemed to go down well (never assume a man in a suit wouldn’t want a jellybean)

Not only did we get to meet some potential new clients but we also got to chat to the UK team from Magento and other partners which was very insightful and enjoyable. The venue-London Olympia-was huge and provided the ideal setting for such an event. The place was a hive of activity from the moment the doors opened until the moment they shut – some eager visitors had to be kicked out! Despite being exhausted from being on our feet all day, we came away feeling that the effort was well worth it and that we all gained something from the experience. Magento did a great job of hosting the pavilion and the free beers at the end of day one went down very well!

Overall, a valuable and enjoyable few days in London. Get down there next year, we thoroughly recommend it.
